VIDEOPHONE 1.5  (DSU 2007)

„Videophone 1.5“ is the second prototype of an interactive video installation with an old telephone as interface.

There’s a small table with a TV screen (or projection) and in front of the screen an old telephone. The video shows the artist sitting behind the same phone in the screen, obviously waiting on a call...

Pick up the phone and you will call the person on the „other side“. According to his mood, he’ll pick you up in a hurry, lazy or funny way. Feel free to answer and tell him your deepest secrets – or just greetings or jokes. Anyway, you’ll not be able to talk a long time – he’s got to be ready for the next caller soon...

Note: Anything people say might eventually be recorded, heard and broadcasted online...

Space Conditions:
VIDEOPHONE can be situated in side positions, gangways, corridors, corners, or small rooms. Ideal is a place where visitors are slowly passing or even lounging/sitting/waiting...

> Ca. 2 x 2m is enough (watch photos)
IMPORTANT: not very loud surrounding! (DJs/Party)

Technical Requirements:
electricity (3 plugs), TV/Monitor or evt. projector (VGA, Scart, Cinch or S-Video), small table / Cube / Box
